Any fixed position can create extremism, even people who cre passionately about the environment and animals can become extremists.
There are ways of living that create a more positive, compassionate world, but when people fixate upon them, they can become extreme, thinking that the way they think about is the only way.
The same goes for religion.
Is it possible that other religions could be right? It doesn’t matter if they are, but if you don’t accept any other possibilities you can become an extremist and will even turn to violence when you feel you are not being listened to.
When people feel they are not being heard, and are focused on a cause to such an extent that it takes over their life, they can become extremists, even me!
he world is full of possibles, and allowing these possibles to co exist with your own ideas will help create a more harmonious world.
And if you don’t want to do that, well, you can always follow your own path.
But year upon year we see the results of extremism, whether by ‘legitimate’ governments, terrorists, activists, paramilitary organisations, armies, and even mr smith next door.
Anyone has the potential to be an extremist. Don’t be that person.
