ID, or Identification, is absolutely essential in the modern age.
We all need to prove who we are at all times, under fear of punishment, by the people in power, who are working to protect us, you understand!
I noticed today that my driving licnce has expired, and needs renewal, so Ican no longer rent a car, and f challenged for my ID, it would be invalid, so is that the sum of me? If I have No ID, I don’t exist!
Which is pretty strange, as I clearly do!
If you have no passport it means you cannot travel to another country, and if you don’t have a national insurance number you can’t claim healthcare…
Without valid ID you can’t open a bank account, or do anything really, you are completely outside the system. In my opinion, being outside the system is a good thing, but it makes life pretty stressful of you need to engage with the system for any reason.
In some respects it seems like a pretty smart idea, facilitating travel, and accessing government services, but when it becomes mandatory to carry Identification on you at all times, just in case the police or the army want to check you are who you say you are, it all begins to sound a little more sinister…
Whenever I bring this up with friends and family, they always say, stop complaining and just accept it.
But…
No other species is required to carry it, except in some countries, where pets have to be ‘registered’ with the authorities…
I can only assume that when ID was introduced they thought they were doing the right thing, as humans have a tendency to lie about everything and be generally untrustworthy at the best of times!
The thing is having an iD dydtem doesn’t make anyone kinder or nicer, nor does it stop people murdering others, or sneaking into other countries ‘illegally’ it just seeks to control the population.
obviously there is a small proportion of the population who are up to no good! They steal people’s identities, obtain fraudulent loans in their name, raid their bank accounts, scam them, and generally make people’s lives a misery so they can enrich themselves without having to work honourably like most of the population.
But, if there was no ID there would be no ID fraud!
But back to the 99 percent, that’s all the other hundreds of thousands of species in the land and sea…
Why don’t they need ID?
Why don’t other primates, or dolphins which are highely intelligent species need to prove who they are?
Why does a bird migrating in the winter to a different country need a passport!
‘It’s outrageous!’ Says you ‘They need to be controlled! How dare birds from another country come to our country and steal our birds food!’
Even the most anti migration people would laugh at that statement.Why? Because ID only exists in the human domain.
Maybe we need to rethink our constant need for Identification, increase our resilience, and dependence on governments, and governments need to set the population and species free by abolishing all ID…
Right, I better renew my driving licence in case I get in trouble!
