JOHN O’ GROATS

Hi everyone

Hari and I have arrived at John O´ Groats…The most northerly part of the British Mainland and itś freezing!

The wind is biting, and for the first time this year I feel completely unprepared for a british winter, especially as the plan is to camp the whole way!

I have decided to head north to the shetland islands for Christmas and Hogmanay ( new year) which is the most northerly part of the british isles, and we are waiting on a weather window for the ferry.

I have had to rethink wearing my socks and sandles that I have been wearing waking all year, and thanks to a gist by my dad, now have a pair of Salomon Gortetex walking shoes!

I still don’t have a warm jacket or a winter sleeping bag and am a bit concerned about freezing to death!

Hari, on the other hand, being a labrador, has a great furry coat and doesn’t seem concerned about the weather, as he is constantly diving in the cold sea !

I’ll update you once we’re on our way north!
