You are a part of the most intelligent species on earth…
You bring up your children in the best way you know how, instilling values into the little ones you have brought into the world, teaching them to swim, ride bikes, how to hold a knife and fork, how to use the toilet, how to walk and run, what to say and what not to say…
Yet each and every one of you hand over the ‘education’ of your children to the establishment, the powerful, to elected or unelected officials, to ‘teachers’…
But wait a minute, I thought you zere the one who taught your children?
Not maths, physics, chemistry, biology,languages, sport, political studies, religious education etc says you…these jobs are better handled by ‘the professionals’…
But why are they learning all this, and why do you not have the skills to teach them?
Becasue you see, says you, I’m much to busy with my job, earning money to put a roof over their heads, and pay for food etc…
What is the purpose of education farmed out to individuals who are complete strangers to you?
Why do you accept this as normal, given you are the one ultimately responsible for your child’s upbringing and welfare?
Strange questions indeed…
I am not offering solutions here, I would just like you to open your mind to the possibility that ‘education’ by third parties is not all it seems, and that the third parties involved in your child’s crucial stages of development may not have yours or your child’s best interests at heart…
